Venezia

The arrival of my husband’s mother last week meant that we were, once again, obliged to go to Venice.  I know, I can feel the outpouring of sympathy from all of you! Can you believe the conditions we have to live with??! 😉

When we decided to move to Udine, we guessed that we would have a fairly regular flow of visitors….and that all of them would want to visit Venice.  We did wonder, with all these visits, if it would ever become a chore.  Could we possibly get bored of Venice?

In actual fact, it has been wonderful to see such a beautiful and iconic city at different times during the year.  The sun was out on Sunday and Venice was simply glorious.  The pale coloured buildings against the brilliant blue sky and the sunlight bouncing off the water  just cannot fail to make your spirits soar.

In my opinion, the best time of year to visit is in the winter.  It is cheaper and much less crowded.  In Northern Italy it may be cold but you have a pretty good chance getting some lovely, clear sunny days which is when Venice looks at her very best

I think the other reason I never get bored with Venice is because my husband and I spent the first part of our honeymoon here.  I always feel a bit sentimental when I return…..

….or maybe it it is just the Bellinis we had in St Marks Square!

    1. I hope you get to see it soon, Tifa.

Thank you so much for the award nomination – I feel so chuffed that someone would think of me. I am still just getting into blogging so, for now, I have decided not to do awards. I am that new I don’t think I know of enough blogs to nominate! 😂 I did read all your answers (loved them!) and I will pop by to visit the other blogs you nominated. Thanks again – I really appreciate it

      1. That makes perfect sense. The purpose of the award is so that people can discover new blogs and I wanted to share the blogs that I love.
        You’re most welcome x
